City advises of water supply disruption to De La Haye in Bellville

10 November 2020

The City’s Water and Sanitation Department will be upgrading one of the water supply mains feeding into the De La Haye area of Bellville on Thursday 12 November 2020.

The work, which involves the installation of a 225mm diameter T-piece, will require the temporary interruption of the water supply from 09:00 to 16:00 to enable the work to be done safely.

This will result in some parts of De La Haye being supplied at low pressure, and possible localised water outages. The area which will experience the impact is bounded by Old Paarl Road, Voortrekker Road, Bill Bezuidenhout Avenue and De La Haye Road.

Residents are kindly requested to store water upfront in clean, sealed containers for domestic use during this period

Residents are also advised to ensure that their taps are closed during this period to ensure that they don’t incur any water loss and/or damage when the water supply is restored.

The City sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused, but it is imperative that it maintains its water supply infrastructure to enable the reliable supply of drinking water to its residents.
